With its untamed ruggedly beauty Damaraland is one of Namibia’s most scenic areas with open plains and grassland, massive granite koppies and deep gorges and to the west you will find endless sandy wastes. Roaming with desert-adapted Elephant, black rhino, giraffe, springbok and ostrich all of these animals adapted there lifestyles to survive in the harshness of the sun and almost waterless desert space. These elephants travel up to 70km per day to search for food and water. Home to around 1200 Nama, Damara, Riemcasmaakers and Herero People.
